Now that you have seen the preparation for Valentine’s Day; Polly and I once again will walk you through to getting a classic glam look for this special day. By the way Pauline also known as Polly is an amazing blogger from the UK with her blog What Polly Does.

Basically before you add any makeup you need to prime your face to enhance the appearance of makeup and make it last a bit longer. You can apply the primer with your fingers, and blend it all over your face. Proceeding is the application of your choice of Foundation and when it comes to this, it is wise to choose the right color shade matching your skin tone. You can use a foundation brush or damp beauty sponge to blend it all over your face into your neck and earlobes if necessary.

You can as well as use a concealer especially on problem areas such as dark under-eye circles or blemishes. Grab a concealer brush to blend it on your under-eye area in an upside down triangle shape to get a natural looking coverage then jump down to the bridge of your nose, chin, center of forehead, and above upper lip. Next let your make up set for a moment in conjunction with the use of a setting powder to hold both your foundation and concealer in place. With the help of a damp beauty sponge pick up loose powder and press onto the under-eye area, soon after, gently sweep off any excess with a brush.

At this point you probably look pale like you have been blood drained so it is time to jog around colors begin with a powder highlighter to brighten up the deepest areas of your face including the inside corners of your eyes plus underneath your eyebrows together with the center of your cupid’s bow and on your cheekbones. To at least look much better than otherwise.

Well it doesn’t end there, from bright coloured highliter to two shades darker than your actual skin tone concealor! Good God!! Doing make up is amazing. Strike your contour on forehead around your hairline as well as under your cheekbones below where you highlighted, on the sides of your nose, and you can also do it under your jawline.

This is the reason why we take 48hrs getting ready! Because we get stuck trying to find a perfect eye shadow color!!! But in this case since it is for Valentine’s day; it is simple, options are either smokey, glam or classic. using an eye shadow brush, dab it on a metallic orange-brown  eye shadow pot  then apply your eye shadow to your eyelid, starting in the center near your lash line and blending outwards.

Fade your eye shadow into your natural skin tone near your crease and the inside and outside corners of your eyes, to prevent any harsh lines from forming repeat this but with a black eye shadow to get a smokey look. Then use brown eyeliner to highlight your bottom lower lash line. Not forgetting to highlight your brow bone by applying a lighter shade of eye shadow recommendable nude colours.

After that fill in your eyebrows, you can like wise use a concealer to give them a popping look then add mascara on your lashes starting with the inner part of your eye. Both upper and lower lashes with two coats to get them looking full apply a coat of baby powder between coats of mascara.

To complete the look apply a lip balm then use a purple lip liner to outline your lips after that add a purple lipstick to go over your lip liner; and blend the color outwards. Be sure to apply the color as close to the edges of your lips as you can and don’t go overdraw your lips.
