Dear Mom

From diapers, First words, first steps, you were the only one who believed in me, sometimes I gave you sleepless nights jumping all over you, crying all night but you were patient with me. Through teenage stages, it was very hard at some point I hated you, and you never seemed to be bothered by that because you had faith in me.
All in all I just want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve always shown unconditional love towards me even when I don’t want it, or don’t deserve it. Having you as a mother is the greatest gift and biggest advantage anyone could have given me. You’ve sacrificed a lot of things for me, and I’m truly grateful for that.airbrush_20161130140428.jpg

You taught me right from wrong, good from bad, and decent from indecent. It is because of the values and confidence that you’ve instilled in me that makes me who I am today. Thank you for shaping me into a person I’m proud to be and letting me believe that I can be whoever I want to be. I’ve learned how to be a responsible, productive person from you, and I thank you with all of my heart.
There’s this one magical thing about you that I can’t resist which happens to be your convincing skills, you make me do things I don’t want to do like washing the dishes, eating vegetables, talking to relatives on the phone and putting my studies first. You have high expectations of me, and now I have high expectations of myself. Sometimes life can be overwhelming with its ups and downs, but you always try to make it steady and balance it for me.

Thank you for being my therapist; you’re such a good listener. You always listen to my problems, unlike most friends I have you don’t judge me but instead you hear me out and help me walk out them. I can’t even express how thankful I am for that. I’ll admit that being friends with you somehow delayed, I had problems in the past and had no one to tell or hear me out yet you were there but my ignorance and pride made you invisible to me.

Once again mom thank you for everything, for all of the big and small things. They all have made a difference in my life, no matter how small. Thanks for being so understanding, so strict and for being my rescue option to my problems in life.

Your Daughter
Amy
